The standard is the same for all

Tata Tiscon, JSW Neosteel, SAIL, Jindal Panther and Kamdhenu NXT all sell TMT bars under IS 1786, with grades such as Fe500, Fe500D and Fe550D. The minimum yield strength, elongation and chemistry limits are set by the standard and are the same for every brand at a given grade. We stock all five.

A brand name does not change a grade. An Fe500D bar from any compliant maker must reach at least 500 N/mm² yield and 16% elongation.

How to choose between them

Match the grade first. For a house in seismic zone IV, which covers Amroha, ductile Fe500D or Fe550D is the safer choice over plain Fe500.
Ask for the mill test certificate for the heat or lot you are buying.
Check brand rolled markings on the bar and the bundle tag, and weigh a sample against the d²/162 weight per metre.
Look at the bar surface: even ribs, no cracks, no flaking rust.
Compare the day's rate across brands for the same grade and size, since the price gap between brands changes.

Which one should you buy

If your engineer has named a brand in the drawing or tender, follow it. Otherwise any of these five, in the right grade and with a test certificate, meets the standard. Pick the one that gives the best rate and steady supply for your quantity, and keep the same brand for one structural element so bar behaviour stays consistent.
